Halloween Fest
The Halloween Fest went off without a hitch at The Perch at Sutherland and Market Central. Students lined up to get a glimpse of Chef Devon Horne’s ghoulish and gory chocolate creations. View photos
Pitt’s Got Talent
“Pitt’s got talent” is an understatement! Hosted by The Perch at Sutherland, this event turned out to be a huge success! Students from all over campus showed up to prove they’ve got it. There were singers, dancers, movie impersonators, step dancers and jugglers, just to name a few. Danny Hurricane and the Tropical Storms came in first place as they wowed the crowd with a performance of their originally-written music. Brendan Schatzki a medical student with a passion for music took second place with his theatrical performance of a song from Les Miserables. Third place went to Maia Woluchem with her graceful acapella performance. View photos
Meet the Farmer
Market Central kicked off their “Meet the Farmer” program at Magellan’s with Brenckles Farm. Dining Services is reducing our carbon footprint by utilizing local farms. Each month a different local farm that provides us with product will be coming to Market Central. Students were able to meet farmer, Greg Brenckle and try his produce firsthand. He and Executive Chef Corey Hawke prepared the delicious dishes using produce supplied by Brenckles Farm. The event featured winning recipe “Great Grandma Dust’s Apple Nut Cake” submitted by student Katie Markovich. View photos
Lucky Charms
It was students’ lucky day at Market Central on Wednesday, September 2 as they were greeted by the infamous Lucky Charms character, from that ‘magically delicious’ cereal. Students flocked to have their pictures taken with the not-so little leprechaun. Lucky hosted games and even a cereal-eating contest in which participants were able to win prizes such as hats, shirts and PJs. View photos
