Litchfield Tower C

Description

The Litchfield Towers comprise the largest residential complex on the Pitt campus. The three towers accommodate 1,868 men and women in air-conditioned singles and doubles. The lobby of the three towers houses a variety of offices and facilities including Panther Central, the student mail center, a fitness center, laundry facilities, vending machines, e-mail kiosks, and Common Grounds coffee cart. The Market Central made-to-order dining facility is located on the lower level, as well as Market To-Go (take-out), Quick Zone, and Taco Bell. A skywalk from the lobby spans Forbes Avenue, providing convenient access to the academic buildings south of Forbes.

Tower C houses 435 men and women, both first-year and upperclass students, in air-conditioned single rooms. There are communal bathrooms and showers on each floor. A TV/study lounge is on every third floor.

Tower C has Quiet Living floors for women and men. A resident director, a program coordinator, and 14 resident assistants are on staff.

Beds are arranged in two possible configurations: beds with frames that are approximately 2.5' off the ground and beds that are 10" off the floor. Bed type varies by room.

Basic cable television is provided in each room/suite in every residence hall and each bedroom and/or living room in every apartment-style accommodation.

Each residence hall room and apartment-style living bedroom is equipped with an Ethernet connection that links you directly to the University network and the Internet.

Room Dimensions

Rooms are approximately 17' x 6.5'. A space that is sectioned off from the rest of the room serves as closet space. It is open and does not have a door or curtain. The closets are approximately 4' x 2.5' and have three wire frame shelves that are approximately 2' x 1.25' and one wire shelf that is approximately 3.25' x 1.25'.
