Transit Agreement

Fare free public transportation

Avoid the aggravation and expense of commuting by car. Ride Port Authority Transit fare-free with your Panther Card (Pitt ID).

Travel around Oakland and Pittsburgh fare-free 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

All University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and staff may ride all Port Authority buses, trolleys, and inclines within Allegheny County. Simply tap your valid and current Panther Card to the smart card target located on the Port Authority vehicle to ride fare-free. Family members and guests must pay the full fare.

If you are a current University of Pittsburgh student, faculty or staff and your Panther Card does not work on the Port Authority Transit, you will be required to pay for that ride.  You should come to Panther Central with the 4-digit bus number and route number to complete a Port Authority Refund Request form.  Panther Central will review the claim and if warranted, refunds will be given in the form of Panther Funds.  Refunds may take 5-7 business days.  NO Cash Refunds will be issued.

Interactive bus schedules are available online. Printed schedules are available in the Department of Parking, Transportation and Services, 3525 Forbes Avenue.
