Pitt Students: Find Bus Times by Ride Systems GPS

Ride Systems GPS (www.pittshuttles.com/m) provides transit riders with next bus times by smartphone applications. Find stops and scheduled arrival times for your desired route.

  • Select  "Arrival" tab for times.

Disability Shuttles provide safe, convenient transportation for students, faculty, and staff with temporary or permanent disabilities. To be eligible, riders must submit documentation of a physical disability that indicates their need to use the Disability Shuttle. more »

SafeRider

SafeRider provides safe transportation during the evening and early morning hours when special, nonemergency needs arise for students, faculty, and staff. more »

Library Resource Facility Shuttle (25A)

This route operates 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There are not stops between Hillman Library and the Library Resource Facility. Requests for stops between Hillman Library and the Library Resource Facility will not be honored.

The shuttle departs Hillman Library at every 60 minutes during the hours of operation and begins its return trip from the Library Resource Facility every hour starting at 9:35 a.m. through 4:35 p.m.

Bigelow Boulevard Closures

Bigelow Boulevard may be closed from time to time throughout the year, due to special events such as the annual Bigelow Bash or football.

In these instances, buses and shuttles will not be able to pick up or drop off passengers at the bus shelters. All buses and shuttles, except the 30A, will pick up or drop off passengers across the street from the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial near the Pittsburgh Athletic Association (PAA) on  Upper                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Bigelow Boulevard as noted in the map to the right. 

Public Transportation

Port Authority Transit provides fare-free service throughout Allegheny County, including Oakland and Pittsburgh. Check their online schedules or get a printed schedule at the Department of Parking, Transportation and Services Office, 3525 Forbes Avenue. Be sure to have your Smartcard Pitt ID for the new Tap and Go feature on all PAT services.

Additional routes often used are the Port Authority buses 59U with trips from Oakland to The Waterfront and to Century III Mall. For your convenience we have made a short listing of these and other popular destinations.

Chatham Shuttles & CMU Shuttles

Pitt students are eligible to ride the Chatham University shuttles and CMU shuttles at no cost after 7:00pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends (you need a valid Panther Card)
