- Who can ride our buses?
Buses Home for the Holidays is for students only. Student ID must be shown to board the buses.
- What email do we use when registering?
Please use your Pitt email when purchasing tickets. All communication regarding this service will be done through your Pitt email that was provided.
- Can parents purchase Buses Home tickets?
Students ONLY have access to purchase Buses Home for the Holidays tickets.
- Can a student purchase a ticket for another student?
Each student should purchase their own ticket to ensure they receive direct important trip updates and are included on the passenger list upon arrival. Purchasing tickets for others may prevent them from getting these updates and being properly listed.
- How much are tickets for the Buses Home Program?

Traveling with ADA Accommodations
- When purchasing your ticket, check the ADA accommodations box to ensure your needs are met.
- For additional assistance, contact pittshuttles@pitt.edu.
Traveling with a Service Animal- Please email pittshuttles@pitt.edu in advance to arrange accommodations.
- Ensure all required service animal paperwork is completed and up to date before travel.
- Bring a copy of the necessary documents with you.
- How to purchase your Buses Home for the Holidays tickets?
Students must download the Transact Mobile Ordering app from the App Store or Google Play. It is recommended to sign in as a student and use your Pitt email.
To purchase your ticket with mobile order:
- Download the Transact Mobile Ordering app
- Select University of Pittsburgh – Oakland
- Scroll down to find University Events
- Select your destination ticket and/or your return to Pitt ticket
- I have the Transact Mobile Ordering app and don’t see where to purchase my ticket.
The “University Events” is listed further down on the list. If you still are not seeing it, delete the app and download it again. If you are still having problems, please contact the Mobility Office at 412-624- 8801.
Be advised that the “University Events” will only be displayed when it is time to purchase your bus ticket for the corresponding duration.
- What should I have ready to show when boarding the bus?
- Proof of purchase (show confirmation email on your phone)
- Pitt ID
- Your name will be confirmed upon arrival on the passenger list
- Who can I call on the day of travel?

- What kind of bus is used for travel?
A motorcoach is used for travel.
- Does the bus have WiFi?
Yes, the motorcoach has WiFi.
- Does the bus have a bathroom?
Yes, the motorcoach does have a bathroom
- What is the amount of luggage allowed on the bus?
All passengers are allowed one large suitcase/bag and one small carry-on bag.
- Can I receive a refund?
All sales are FINAL — no refunds, exchanges, or transferring of tickets.
