Pittsburgh Regional Transit

Ride fare-free with Ready2Ride App (for those using the Mobile Panther ID) or by tapping your Panther Card on Pittsburgh Regional Transit. PRT provides service throughout Oakland and Pittsburgh seven days a week, with limited holiday service. All eligible University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and staff can ride buses, light rail, and inclines within Allegheny County at no cost. Guests and family members must pay full fare.

If your mobile pass or Panther Card does not work, take note of the bus and route number and contact Panther Central to request a refund. Approved refunds are issued as Panther Funds and may take 5–7 business days.

Transit Options
Bus

Pittsburgh Regional Transit has a fleet of more than 700 buses that operate 365 days a year, servicing more than 7,000 stops throughout Allegheny county. All bus routes and rides are free to eligible University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and employees.

Light Rail

Pittsburgh Regional Transit light rail cars, otherwise known as The T, services 27 stations and utilizes 26.2 miles of track from the South Hills to the North Side. Many light rail stops are within walking distance from a PRT bus stop. All light rail routes and rides are free to eligible University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and employees.

Incline

The Monongahela and Duquense Inclines not only offer breathtaking views of the city, but are a quick and convenient way to access Mount Washington. All incline rides are free to eligible University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and employees.
