Resident Student Permits
If you are a full-time resident student, you can apply to access resident parking in Centre Plaza (CP), Forbes Craig (FC), Franklin (L), Litchfield Towers (LT), Allequippa Street (OC), Panther Hollow (PH), Wellington (WA), Pennsylvania Apartments (PA), and the Veterans lot (U) behind Sutherland Hall. *Permit applications will be available July 16, 2026 and will close July 30, 2026. Be advised that applying for a permit does not guarantee you ability to receive a permit. First year students are NOT permitted to purchase a parking permit or bring a vehicle to campus. First year students who have a extenuating need that requires them to have a vehicle on campus may email the parking office and request a parking exception form.
Your parking permit will follow the same academic terms detailed in your housing contract.**
*Contact the Parking Office if you live in College Gardens, Darragh Apartments, Hyacinth Place, or Residences on Bigelow and wish to purchase a parking permit.
**Prices and locations are subject to change, and permits are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Commuter Student Permits
Commuter permits go on sale August 4, 2026 at 6 p.m. You can put your name on the waitlist at commuterwaitlist.pitt.edu. If you have any other questions, you can email the Parking Office at parking@bc.pitt.edu, or you can call 412-624-4034 and leave a message. Calls will be answered in the order received.
Commuter student permits are available for the OC and University Drive (UD) lots, and are valid in all non-restricted University lots after 5 p.m. and on weekends, except during special events.
Once issued, the permit holder must park in their assigned lot weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Permits are not valid for overnight parking in any campus lots.
Commuters who do not have a permit are also able to park in hourly and daily parking facilities, like the OC, PH, SO, and SN facilities.
Evening Student Permits
Evening student permits are $71 per semester and can be purchased each semester in the Parking Services team at Panther Central. To accommodate students enrolled in various programs, we reduce the cost of the permit monthly.
The evening student permit is valid at select locations from 2:50 p.m. through midnight on weekdays and all day on weekends, except—depending upon location—during special events. Evening permits are not valid at parking meters.

**No parking permitted in E Lot during special events.
Summer Parking Permits
We offer daily parking through the summer term. Lot availability varies depending on student needs. Students can purchase commuter permits for the OC lot, as well as evening student permits, during the summer months. These permits are sold by the week and require a minimum of four weeks. Contact us for more information on a plan that best suits you or visit the Parking Services team at Panther Central to purchase a permit.
