Free Bike and Scooter Registration
Register your bike, e-bike, or e-scooter for free through BikeIndex to have a record of your ownership, deter theft, and identify your bike or scooter if it is lost, stolen, or impounded.
How to Register
Registration is quick, easy, and free! All you need is your bike or scooter's serial number. Once you have the serial number, complete the University of Pittsburgh's Bike Registration form.
Report a Lost or Stolen Bike or Scooter
If your bike or scooter is missing or stolen, or if you believe you've found a lost or stolen bike or scooter, contact the Pitt Police at (412) 624-4040 or police@pitt.edu. Pitt Police are equipped to handle stolen or missing claims and work with BikeIndex and the City of Pittsburgh to recover bikes and scooters.
